The Kookaburra (Kindy) Room
Our Kookaburra Room at Moolanda caters for 20 children with two Educators, along with our OSHC staff who arrive at the centre by 9 am.
In the Kookaburra room, we follow the Early Years Learning Framework, Kindergarten Guidelines and the Australian Curriculum. We have an onsite Early Childhood Teacher/ Educational Leader who helps to guide the Kookaburra program.
We have a flexible yet structured, school-like daily routine to prepare the children for a smooth transition into school life.
Our experiences in the Kookaburra room are developed for both group and individual learning.
We are very lucky to have a large outdoor environment so we embrace both an indoor and outdoor classroom where the children are encouraged to learn through play, as well as following planned experiences.
During their time in the Kookaburra room, the children are encouraged to participate in group activities, demonstrate their independence and self-help skills and develop positive social and emotional skills in preparation for school.
All meals are provided for and cooked by Geraldine. Upon enrolment please discuss with Educators if your child has any allergies or dietary requirements and Geraldine will cater to these.
